How John Deere Combine Advisor Improves Harvest Operations

When you’re hard at work, the last thing you want to worry about is grain loss and poor grain quality. Unsurprisingly, John Deere has a solution to help producers manage this potential challenge – Combine Advisor™. This piece of technology is designed to bring more automation to harvesting and give you one less thing to worry about on the job. By eliminating some of the need to make manual adjustments on the fly, Combine Advisor helps boost the effectiveness of John Deere machinery. Let’s take a look at some of its features and how it can improve your operations.

ActiveVision™ Cameras

With ActiveVision cameras, you can keep an eye on changes in grain quality as you work. By pressing the “Live Camera” button on the Combine Advisor screen, you can see everything as it’s taken in by the machine.

Auto Maintain

Auto Maintain gets rid of the need to make manual adjustments to your combine as you work, giving you peace of mind in knowing you are doing everything you can to reduce grain loss and improve grain quality. You can reference settings at any point during the workday to adjust the response aggressiveness and sensitivity levels.

‘Optimize Performance’

Before you turn on the Auto Maintain feature, you have the option to select “Optimize Performance,” which allows you to input grain quality of grain loss issues you are experiencing. The system will then utilize the current conditions and combine settings to recommend solutions that can be applied directly within the “Optimize Performance” tool.

History Page

Operators have the option to access the History page at any point to take a look at their machine’s performance and adjustment history. The “Performance” tab also shows how grain loss and grain quality levels are trending relative to the target level.

HarvestSmart

Auto Maintain is designed to work with HarvestSmart to maintain machine throughput. When the “Manage Targets with Grain Loss” box is checked off, the system automatically adjusts the engine power target if grain loss levels rise above performance targets.
