Guest Speaker: Myron E. Stine                                           President, Stine Seed     
Session: HPPD Carry Over in Soybeans

Myron Stine proudly supports the family business by providing direction in marketing strategies and sales force infrastructure for Stine Seed Company. Myron understands the importance of working hard and developing relationships. With a background in crop science, sales and marketing, Myron has worked his way up through organization, from starting his career on the family farm to serving Stine as a district sales manager, regional sales manager, national sales director, vice president of sales and marketing, and now as president of Stine Seed Company. Myron holds a B.S. in crop science from McPherson College in McPherson, Kansas.

Session: Caden Edge II Sweep & Ripper

Dr. Tekeste’s areas of teaching include machine systems interfacing with soil and crop materials for functional analysis and design of off-road machinery equipment and applied soil and crop dynamics for off-road machinery. Dr. Tekeste’s current areas of reasearch are (1) simulation of machine performance at machine-soil-crop interface; and (2) precision agriculture technology development for tillage and soil compaction management.

Session: Cover Crops

Sarah Carlson joined Practical Farmers of Iowa staff in the fall of 2007. Sarah is the Strategic Initiatives Director. She helps transfer agronomic research about cover crops and small grains through supply chain projects , articles, blogs, and presentation materials while working to improve the support for cover crop and small grains research. She is also an agronomist.

Session: LSW Tires

Scott Sloan has over 30 years of experience in the farm tire industry. As an Ag Product Manager at Titan International, Inc., Sloan currently oversees the product development and marketing strategy for all Titan and Goodyear Farm Tire products. He is based out of the Des Moines, Iowa plant.

Guest Speaker: Paul Sweeney
Director of Conservation Planning, ESE
Session: Managing Farm Water Resources

Paul Sweeney joined Ecosystem Services Exchange (ESE) in July of 2015 after retiring from the USDA – Natural Resources Conservation Service . He is a graduate of the University of Nebraska – Lincoln’s Agriculture College where he majored in natural resources. Paul is a NRCS certified TSP for development of Drainage Water Management Conservation Activity Plans for producers. He leads the ESE Planning team in developing drainage water management and sub-irrigation plans for yield and environmental benefits in states in the Midwest and Great Lakes as well as locations on the east coast and Florida.
