Our History
Van Wall Equipment has a proud history as a John Deere dealer dating back to 1944, when the first dealership – known as Wall Implement – was opened on Main Street in Woodward, Iowa. Since that time, Van Wall Equipment has grown into one of the largest multi-brand dealership groups in the country with over 750 employees and 35 locations spanning six states in the Midwest, including Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota, Nebraska, & North Dakota. Van Wall is proud to sell and service a wide range of John Deere equipment including products specialized for agriculture, golf & sports turf, light construction, commercial, and lawn & garden applications. Additionally, our precision agriculture and application teams deliver a breadth of complementary products and services designed to improve the profitability and competitiveness of our growers.
Our diversified dealership group also includes two locations that, together with some of our John Deere dealer sites, provide the foundation for our Powersports Division. Our Van Wall Powersports storefront in Indianola, Iowa, provides sales and service across a wide range of brands including Polaris, Slingshot, Honda, and Yamaha. The newest addition to the Van Wall family, our Stroom Powersports location in Bondurant offers one of the largest selections of powersports lines in Iowa, including Polaris, Honda, Indian Motorcycle, BMW Motorcycles, Ducati, and KTM.

Tech Program Scholarships
Power up your career at Van Wall Equipment with our incredible John Deere Ag Tech & Power Equipment Tech Programs! These apprenticeship-style programs combine on-the-job training with structured classroom learning, and have great benefits like full-tuition sponsorships and guaranteed employment upon completion.
As a tech program student, apprentices will gain exposure to electronics, hydraulics, diesel & gas engines, powertrains, heating & air conditioning, safety, and much more! During the program, they’ll have the opportunity to utilize the skills they learn in the classroom while working side-by-side with our certified full-time technicians, further developing their skills. Van Wall Equipment provides a standard hourly rate for all on-the-job training that is completed at our dealer locations.
Get a Jump Start on Your Future
High School Internship Program
Join the Van Wall Equipment team this summer! As an intern, you will participate in on-the-job training and perform miscellaneous tasks under the direction of a Service Manager, Location Manager, Shop Foreman, or Senior Technicians.
Candidates should be at least 16 years old and interested in being sponsored for our John Deere Ag Tech or Power Equipment Tech Programs.
Example Job Duties
- Maintain location lawn and facilities.
- Complete service specials in the wash bay.
- Assist senior technicians with projects as needed.
- Maintain the condition of service vehicles, trailers, tools, and equipment of other technicians.
