TECH PROGRAM ROADMAP
Beginning your career with Van Wall doesn’t have to wait until college. If you’re 16 years old or above and already interested in pursuing a service technician pathway after graduating high school, there may be an opportunity for a high school internship!
WHAT WILL I DO AS AN INTERN?
As a high school intern, you’ll partner with one of our Senior Technicians to gain hands-on experience in our shop through a variety of tasks & responsibilities. These may include assisting technicians, turning wrenches with guidance & supervision, riding along on service calls, organizing & putting away parts, detailing equipment, and providing general shop maintenance.
WILL INTERNING HELP ME PREPARE FOR A TECH PROGRAM SPONSORSHIP?
Our high school internships provide a number of benefits to students. They not only give you the chance to earn while you learn, but also help provide a better understanding of what our Tech Programs and full-time service careers are like. While there’s no guarantee that a high school internship will lead to a Van Wall Tech Program sponsorship, they’re a great first step in helping both you – and us – feel out whether it could be a fit.
IS IT SAFE FOR ME TO WORK IN A VAN WALL SHOP?
All of our interns are fully supervised in a safe & friendly work environment. Backed by the support our team members, Van Wall works to ensure high school internships are as educational as they are enjoyable.
1 – HIGH SCHOOL INTERNSHIP
Part-time & full-time paid internship for ages 16+ to gain experience and see if a career as a technician is the right fit. Interns will spend time assisting technicians, turning wrenches with supervision, riding along on service calls, organizing parts, and more.
2 – TECH PROGRAM SPONSORSHIP
2-year full-tuition sponsorship at a partner college to graduate with an A.A.S. Degree and Level 1 & 2 John Deere Certifications*. Tech Program students will rotate between classroom instruction at their college and paid on-the-job training in a Van Wall service facility of their choosing.
*John Deere Tech Program only.
3 – FULL-TIME TECH CAREER
Join the Van Wall team as a full-time Service Technician in our shop upon completion of the program, with tons of experience already under your belt to help you hit the ground running!
